ActiveWayz Engineering is a transportation and civil engineering consulting firm that provides technical services to cities, counties, and other public agencies and private entities in planning and designing transportation projects. We are currently seeking an experienced civil engineer to be part of our growing team. This is a flexible, part-time position. Compensation : Based on Experience

Job-Type : 20-30 hours per week (flexible hours)

​

The ideal candidate will perform, at minimum, the following tasks:

• Perform and manage conceptual design to detailed design with minimal supervision;

• Work closely with the project manager in design management, scheduling, document control, and other essential functions pertaining to engineering design;

• Function as the daily point of contact to staff and consultants at project level for design review and oversight;

• Ensure that all project-related documentation is appropriately filed, updated and accessible to project teams;

• Implement quality control and quality assurance activities;

• Research, analyze, and solve complex problems;

• Write clear, concise, and accurate technical and non-technical reports, studies, correspondence, and memoranda; prepare agreements; keep accurate records.

• Assist in proposal preparation;

• Communicate extensively with project team, sub-consultants and external parties as required for successful and timely execution of project milestones;

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, subconsultants, and project stakeholders in the performance of required duties; and

• Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications and Characteristics:
 

• BS in Civil Engineering, preferably focused on transportation;

• Professional Engineering (PE) License preferred;

• Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation and complete streets engineering design across the entire project cycle: preliminary engineering, detailed design, construction support;

• Experience in preparing plan, specification and estimate (PS&E) packages for transportation projects;

• Strong AutoCAD skills, with preferably AutoCAD Civil 3D experience;

• Strong decision-making, oral and written communications skills;

• Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple long- and short-term tasks simultaneously; and

• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
